Radiesse® vs. Juvéderm Voluma®
- Posted on: May 14 2016
Do you know which filler is indicated for your deep lines and/or volume restoration on the cheeks and areas around the mouth? Dr. Kroumpouzos will review the indications, and pros and cons of two popular fillers, Radiesse® and Juvéderm Voluma®, at the upcoming World Meeting of the International Academy of Cosmetic Dermatology in Panama City.
Radiesse® (calcium hydroxylapatite) was approved for subdermal implantation for the correction of deep wrinkles and folds as well as hand augmentation. Juvéderm Voluma® (hyaluronic acid with Vycross technology) received regulatory approval for deep injection for cheek augmentation to correct age-related volume deficit. However, Radiesse has been used off-label for cheek augmentation in almost 10 years, and both fillers have had several off-label uses. The physical properties of these fillers, including viscosity, elasticity (G-prime) and cohesivity, will be compared during your consultation at GK Dermatology. Furthermore, Dr. Kroumpouzos will provide a head-to-head comparison of these fillers in regards to safety profile, lifting effect, volumizing capacity, longevity, and cost. The pros and cons of these fillers will be discussed. An emphasis on comparing aesthetic results in different areas will be placed.
Dr. Kroumpouzos performs fillers for deep line correction and volume restoration with excellent cosmetic results. If you are interested in these procedures, please request a consultation, or contact us at (781) 731-1600 to schedule your appointment.
